Several weeks ago, as a church, we had the great privilege of praying for Nnamdi Ezewuiro and his family as they leave us to be part of an exciting work of the Lord in Trenton, NJ. If you haven’t heard of Transformation Church (TransformationchurchNJ.org), it came about through the labors and fervent prayers of people in the Trenton area burdened to see the area reached with a vibrant Gospel movement, one that fosters genuine biblical community as members engage their neighbors and community needs. As Nnamdi says, “My wife and I are both excited and humbled that He has decided to use broken people like us, and our Transformation family, to bring His purposes to pass in Trenton.”
Here is a brief interview with Nnamdi about the exciting work happening in Trenton...
1. What is the name of church, what is the senior pastor's name, and where will it meet?
The name of the church is Transformation Church, where the Lead Pastor is Anthony Gilmer. It is located in West, Trenton NJ. Services are currently held at the YMCA on 431 Pennington Ave.
2. Why are you excited about God's work through this plant? What do you hope to see God do?
My wife and I are both excited and humbled that He has decided to use broken people like us, and our Transformation family, to bring His purposes to pass in Trenton. The goal of the church, as implied by the name, is to by God's grace help transform the city of Trenton. My hope is to see lives transformed by the power of the Gospel. I am excited to see what the sovereign Lord will do through Transformation Church
3. What are the greatest needs (spiritual and otherwise) where this church is being planted?
Some of the needs are more gospel-centered churches, genuine community among the local churches, better education for the city, more community activities and programs to assist the natives...
4. How can people pray for you and your family in coming months?
Pray that our love, as well as compassion, would grow for the city of Trenton. Pray that we will find a place in or around Trenton to live. Pray for boldness to proclaim the Gospel. Pray that he will send more laborers to labor with us. Also, I am the praise and worship leader at Transformation, so please pray that I would lead with integrity. Pray that I will seek, in every aspect of this responsibility, to glorify God.
Community within Transformation has been a great blessing to my family and I. I am extremely grateful to God to finally see this local church come into fruition. Much laboring, much praying and lots of tears has gone into seeing this local church exist. God be glorified!
While it’s sad to say goodbye to the Ezewuiro family, we are confident in God’s care for them and excited to see what the Lord will do in and through them as they minister!
