Summer Blast In Review

Few outreach events draw more excitement and attention than Summer Blast. Even with moving Summer Blast to an earlier week in the summer this year, we still had the most children attend than we’ve ever had – 195 (we almost broke our 200 goal!). As always, it took an incredible amount of servant hearts to have all five evenings run smoothly with many of the volunteers putting in hours of preparation. From the head coaches who led their teams and kept the team spirit going, to the band and hand motions teams who brought energy and fun to the worship times, there was no lack of enthusiasm or effort. Speaking of effort, the children who attended Summer Blast put an enormous effort in themselves by raising money for Rice Bowls, an organization that helps to feed orphaned children in other countries. By the end of the week, our children had raised $1,956.60 to be exact! What an incredible amount to give toward fighting hunger! All the successes of the week would not have been possible without so many vital people serving behind the scenes – sound, lighting, hospitality, first aid, security and the list goes on. We are so grateful for everyone who sacrificed a whole week of evenings to serve our children and bring the message of the Gospel to those who haven’t heard before. In case you missed the week, here are a few pictures of all the excitement! Until next year!
